This is a first. We are taking a look at an infused cigar called Café Latte. It was generously sent to me by Stogie Boys.
Infused cigars are a matter of taste. I went through my ACID phase a few years ago…and came out the other end, unscathed.

This absolutely baffles me. In front of me, lay a barber pole figurado whose price point is less than $2. The ACID line runs on average $7-$9 a stick.

Construction is excellent. The barber pole is done well. Seams are tight. And the small cap is open. No clipping necessary. There is a slight oiliness to the double wrappers that are dark and light brown. The figurado shape is dead on from one cigar to the next.

The cigar band is classy for such an inexpensive cigar.

I find aromas of coffee and sweetness. There is a bit of fruit thrown in. There is also a caramel aroma and a grape element.
Time to light up.

I get two blasts. One of black pepper and the other of coffee. The draw is perfect. Even though the cap tails down into an opening only ¼” in diameter.

The strength is mild at this early juncture.

The coffee is mellow and sweet. Not off putting like some other brands where the artificiality is ever present. In fact, the more I smoke, the more the cigar relaxes.

The char line is remarkably right on the money.

The strength makes its move and begins the trek to medium body.

I know that infused cigars are not everyone’s cup of tea. I think ACID did us all in. It was new and we smoked a lot of them.

Some new flavors begin: Creaminess, caramel, and nuts.

I had already planned how I was going to tell Stogie Boys how I didn’t like the cigar and it would be best if I didn’t review it. Don’t have to write that email now.

The cigar is exceptionally pleasant because the “coffee” element is mellow and not over the top.

The ash is hanging tough at a little past 1”.

If you already like infused cigars, then you will like this one. You don’t need to spend $8 on a Java which actually tastes more like chocolate than coffee.

This stick is coffee all the way. No cocoa flavor.

The spiciness changes from black pepper to red pepper and the stick settles in at medium strength.

Coffee takes a middle stance in the flavor profile. The caramel, spice, creaminess are in front of the coffee with that wonderful nuttiness following.

Being the snob I am, I hate to admit it but I like the Cafe Latte. For no other reason that any superficiality is minimal. And it is mated with a few nice flavors that complement the profile nicely.

The Café Latte is a very decent cigar.

I’m at the halfway point and construction is good. The char line is dead on. The wrapper maintains its integrity. All in all, I am impressed that a cigar this inexpensive is as tasty as it is. The blender didn’t skimp on his mission to make sure that snobs can appreciate the nice tobacco elements so often forgotten in other infused brands.

At the halfway point, the Café Latte becomes a flavor bomb. The creaminess and caramel and nuts are pumping away. The coffee ratchets down until it is almost an ancillary flavor. That’s good. Nothing worse than an infused flavor right in your face the whole time. They taste like you’re sucking on sugar. In fact, the sweetness element has mellowed too.

The red pepper goes for the gold. The tip of my tongue is tingling from its strength.

The sun comes out and blots out the dividing lines, the seams, between the two different wrappers. But it now shows you how oily the wrapper is.

I’m at a point now that the tobacco earthiness has taken over the show. The cigar has a week’s humidor time on it and it is showing me quite a bit. I had no expectations of the cigar being anything more than a coffee flavored stick. But it is a very nice tasting vessel for the tobacco.

The cigar is fantastic. I never thought I’d say that about an infused cigar. The blender was a smart cookie, along with the guidance of Stogie Boys, and produced a cigar that we snobs, who only smoke the good stuff, will enjoy.
The strength is classic medium.

It is now nicely balanced with a long finish on the creaminess and caramel. The coffee adds a nice touch to what I would consider a premium cigar.

With less than 2” to go, I am truly enjoying the Café Latte.

I find this cigar a very good blend. The coffee flavor is not overpowering, plenty of earthiness, creaminess, caramel, and nuts…as well as that spice factor.

The char line remains spot on.

I want to thank Sheryl and StogieBoys.com for the chance to review the Café Latte. I enjoyed every minute.
